14 April 1973 Globe Derby Park

14 April 1973   Globe Derby Park

Globe Derby Park at Bolivar was opened on 14 April 1973. Some
16,000 people attended the first night program of seven races. A 'Lady of Fashion' competition was held and the evening was considered to be a great success. The new Park replaced the old and inadequate Wayville track and gave a new lease of life to trotting in South Australia which had been in the doldrums for some years.

Advertiser, 16 April 1973, p.13.
